As most of you know, Wolff bambino #3 is due sometime this month!  Our family couldn’t be more excited, and along with the new baby is going to come big changes for our family.  The biggest being I am going to attempt to be a work at home mom with the photography business!  At least for the next year, I am going to forgo the corporate full time career.  While I LOVE what I do, my boys need me more.

With all of that being said, since I am committing more time to my photography business, I have decided to invest a significant amount of money into the business as well.  I have purchased new photo equipment and newborn studio props in order to give my customers the best possible product I can.

My Bluegrass Baby Photo will be closed from March 1st through April 30th, so I can spend time with my boys, and bond with the new baby upon his arrival.  All the new equipment will be ready to go when my sessions begin again on May 1st, and I couldn’t be more excited!  (Of course, everyone will see previews of the new stuff with the baby!)

Thank you for your continued support of me and My Bluegrass Baby Photo.  I am so blessed that I can use this talent to provide you with family portraits to last a lifetime, while having a blast and supporting my family at the same time!

I think we can agree on a couple things during this post.

#1 – It’s H.O.T. Outside

#2 – We all love SALES!

Soooo…I am announcing a Summer Sale at My Bluegrass Baby Photo!

It will work in a couple ways.  But first you have to look at some pics of my family from Vacation :)

Nate’s parents take the family on vacation every year.  Whether it is the beach or the lake, we always have an good time (although I have to admit, vacations with your kids shouldn’t be called vacation – I think I was more tired when I got back than before I left).  The trip was so much more special this year because the WHOLE family was there, and it was Nolan and Leigh’s first vacation with their aunts and uncles!

We went to the OBX (for those of you without a license to chill, that is the Outer Banks, North Carolina)  The history there is amazing.  I would not hesitate to go back.

More from this later…

Ok, Ok – on to sale details!

This year has brought us MANY ups and downs.  It is time to say goodbye to this decade, and look forward to the fun and exciting things that the next decade will bring for both our family and My Bluegrass Baby Photo!

What are your New Years Resolutions?  I told Nate this morning that his #1 should be to work really really hard on trying his best not to do anything dumb to make me mad everyday…not quite in those words. I love him.

I have many New Years Resolutions…get better at sending birthday cards, get organized, read more, be more patient with my husband (see above), amongst others.

Now on to the fun stuff.  Our 2009 year in review!  My challenge: only 1 picture per month!

January: Waiting on the arrival of Nj and Leigh!

February: The death of my grandfather :(

March: Happy Birthday Nate & Nolan Jude!

April: Brayden turns 3!

May: I am an aunt!!!  Happy Birthday Leigh Susan! And our car accident :(

June: Nj’s 1st trip to the beach and his baptism!

July: Summer Festival fun, and BB learns how to swim!

August: Lake Trips & Soccer Games!

September: My Bluegrass Baby Photo is officially LAUNCHED! Our 10 year High School Reunions, Nolan starts solid foods, we have to put down our precious Aly.

October: Trip to Chicago & BB’s favorite time of the year!  HALLOWEEN!

November: The “Truck”

December: Tree Hunt & SANTA!

I could have done without the death of my Grandpa and Aly, and the car accident that has left me mentally and physically “altered” – but nothing can top the birth of our miracle baby and devoting time to my passion.  Here is to an AMAZING 2010!  Happy New Year!

Frankenstein’s Big Weekend

November 6, 2009

As I sit here looking at our Halloween decorations, and wishing they would put themselves back into storage, I am staring at this cheap, felted, dirty Frankenstein costume.  It needs to be thrown into the garbage, but the 3 year old won’t allow it.  Because he is the Halloween king – and he takes after his Papaw.  He is a pack rat already.  He tells me that he wants to be Frankenstein again next year.  I try to explain to him that this costume won’t fit him next year, and of course, he has a comeback, as he always does…”But Mom, Nolan can wear it in a couple years“.  Darn 3 year olds and their sensible logic.

Halloween was a blast for BB as usual.  Friday they came in costume to visit me at my office, and BB had a big time as usual – we then had an awesome photoshoot with our best friends (pics to come later!!!) and dinner, Trick or Treat on Saturday, and Max’s 1st birthday party on Sunday (pics coming on that one too)!  Whew – I am still exhausted!

Our crew:

The Shadybrook Trails gang

Mamas boys

If you know my eldest, you know that 365 days a year, we talk about Halloween.  What we are going to do, what his costume is going to be, how we are going to decorate, and of course – the candy he is going to consume!  So this is his favorite time of the year, which we kicked off with a trip to the pumpkin patch.

(I apologize that the colors in these photos are off – I was playing with a different lens before we left and forgot to change my settings back :( )

Stay tuned for more Halloween event posts, in continuation of BB’s favorite time of the year!

My apologies for not posting much lately, but we have been busy, busy bees around the Wolff house!  Busy with what, you ask?  Well, birthdays, summer parties, lake trips, and photography sessions!

Yep, you read right….hopefully within the next two weeks, My Bluegrass Baby Photo will be launched!  And my blog readers are the first to know :)

Stay tuned, and I promise some new Wolff family pictures will be posted here as soon as I receive photoshop for my new computer :) I caved in and bought a Mac!

Dave and Amy raised….get this….

$5,512.22 for the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative!!!!  That is amazing.  THEY are amazing.  These two are such an inspiration to everyone around them.

The clouds decided to join in on the fun, and it was COLD all day!  Can you believe it?  In the middle of July, we were freezing!  But fun was had by all, if you can’t tell by the pictures :)

Ignore the stunning women in the front and the Dude trying to ruin our picture, and focus your attention to the left :)

Seriously, it is a golf outing…what could they be conspiring about?

The Sherwin boys

Mom’s famous line of the day, “I hate this game.” :)

This might be the funniest picture of the day (well, the series of pictures is, but I will only post this one) Look at the ground near Katie’s feet :)

After one too many trips to the beer cart….I believe ALL of these carts are in MOTION during these pictures (and yes, I almost wrecked us trying to get these pictures, as I was driving as well!)

Had to add just one more of Katie

Golfing :)

I wish I would have gotten more pictures of everyone else at the outing :(   I didn’t get a single one of Dave and Amy, or everyone’s bracelets and tshirts :(

It is also International Sarcoma Awareness Week, and our luminaries are out!

Celebrating the 4th!

July 6, 2009

The rain didn’t keep us down!  We had a GREAT weekend :)   I have been home since last Wednesday, so having to be back in the office on Monday was pretty depressing.  I miss my boys!

Friday night we went to the Independence celebration with the Woolridge’s and the Murphy’s.  BB and Shakers had a big time riding rides!

Mr. Grant :)

As tradition, we headed to Nick and Kathy’s for the Edgewood Parade.

My babywearing entourage -  All 3 babies fell asleep during the parade!

Max Attack! He is getting so big, I can’t believe he is already 8 months old.  He is crawling like a champ and is DYING to walk already!

It rained the rest of the day :(   We hung out inside, but BB was dying to go outside and play in the rain.  I put swimtrunks on him, and he ran downstairs screaming, “Uncle Dennis, get nakey and play in the rain with me!”

So the night of the 4th, we went to Bubba and Sugar Tit’s to play the Wii.  Sunday it continued to rain, so we had a lazy day and then headed to dinner and the Edgewood fireworks.  BB even rode in the go-cart (entry to come) We had a wonderful weekend!

Catchin’ Up!

July 6, 2009

I need to catch up on June here on the ole’ blog :)

Father’s Day:

Spent at Nick and Kathy’s pool :)   It was also Kathy’s birthday and Curly & Dude’s 1st anniversary!!!

Ben’s 1st Father’s Day.  Leigh spent it sleeping in the pool :)

The Dads had a splash contest. I think Nate won.  Ben needs to work on his technique!

And look what Nj found!

Sneak Peak!

June 16, 2009

We had a great time on vacation.  Thanks to Nick and Kathy for making it possible!  I am not quite finished going through pictures yet, so here are a few to hold you over :)

It started out just like this :)

Brayden loved the sand!

And the pool – but wouldn’t get anywhere near the ocean.

Nolan, on the other hand, didn’t mind where he was…

More to come!  Including pictures from our trip to see Shamu!

Happy Birthday Blake!

June 4, 2009

I can’t believe you are 2.  It seems like just yesterday I was standing at the head of your mommy’s bed while she pushed for over 2 hours to get you out :)   To this day, you are still pretty stubborn.  But your adorableness makes up for it!  We love you!

Some pictures from Blake’s “ball” party!

His present from Mom and Dad

The pinata…He swings a bat like his Daddy :( Hopefully, his uncles will teach him what ball sports are!

And our first family picture!  Thanks Erin!

We had Loren’s shower a few weekends ago.  It was also Nolan’s first time meeting all the women in our extended family!  It was the first beautiful day we have had in a long time, and Emily was the perfect hostess :)

We had a onesie decorating contest…I don’t remember who made this one, but they were clearly sucking up to Loren

The one that clearly should have won ;)

Great Aunt Lynn

The loot

The beautiful scenery – most likely from Bridget’s beautiful garden

After the shower, Loren and I went out on the town for a night to finish shopping, and Kathy helped her set up the nursery this past weekend.  So everything seems to be set for Cletus to arrive!  We are so excited to meet our first niece/nephew!

Happy Easter!

April 13, 2009

Easter was so much fun with Brayden this year.  I felt like this was the first year that he really understood what was going on.  We got out of bed, searched for his Easter basket, found Nolan’s Easter basket as well, then went on an egg hunt in his toy room.  Poor B, he had 3 easter egg hunts all by himself yesterday.  He looked at me at one point and said, “Mom, next year Nolan and Cletus (his nickname for Loren’s baby) will do this with me“.

B’s basket was hidden in HIS favorite hiding spot :)

The loot

All day long, everytime he found an egg, he had to shake it.  It was so flippin’ cute

This child is addicted to puzzles.  He has mastered the 24 and 48 piece puzzles – I guess we need to start on the 100 pieces!!!  He put this puzzle together in 5 minutes.

His new favorite game just happens to be my favorite when I was little.  Thanks Aunt Erin!

Egg hunt pictures!

And finally, Nolan and his mama :)

Of COURSE it snowed on Sunday, I paid good money to have my van washed on Saturday for the first time in ages!

And of COURSE it is going to snow tonight…Nate has been promised poor B for WEEKS that on the first day of a good snow he will take off work and stay home with him to make snow angels and throw snowballs – and Nate is out of town this week :(

Luckily, BB did get to shovel the driveway with Daddy on Sunday.  Nate wanted to sneak out and do it quickly, and then I heard B screaming for him out the window “Daddy, stop!  Wait for me!  Come back, I can help!”  I made Nate come to the door to see B standing there with sad eyes and one hand grasping his snow shovel.  A quick swap of shoes and some piling snow gear later, B was having the time of his life – just look at his face!

So….if you want a good laugh tomorrow, come on down to our neck of the woods to see this 9 month preggo mama plop her large arse on the really cold and wet ground to make a dreaded snow angel.  And for future reference - I am sorry BB,  for not being as fun as Daddy would have been :(

Better late than never!

Christmas Pictures!

Sorry they aren’t great, I didn’t feel well AT ALL Christmas morning, which became very apparent when I started praying to the porcelain gods around 11am :(   I must have eaten something that didn’t agree with me the night before, because Thank God no one else was sick to their stomach.  All three of us, however, have been battling a sinus infection for our entire vacation – I have never seen so much green snot in my life :(   I need a vacation from my vacation!

Besides the sickness, we had a wonderful Christmas, and it was so nice to spend it with EVERYONE in our family this year!

Spoiled much?

The manger that Nate built for his Mom

One of B’s favorite presents – his banjo from Mike and Cathleen

Next Year’s exchange theme? Retro.  Nick already has his present ready

See – I told you we didn’t feel well!  My diet on Christmas day consisted of half a bowl of chicken noodle soup at lunch, and some pasta with parmesan around dinner.  No Christmas goodies for me :(

Christmas Eve!

December 29, 2008

We have a pretty strict Christmas Eve routine around here:  We get up, eat breakfast, get ready, eat lunch, take our pictures, head to the Kennedy’s, go to my Mom’s family Christmas, head to Nate’s Mom’s family Christmas, then midnight mass.  It is always a hectic day.  This year, our routine just didn’t go as planned, and the Kennedy family was slighted :(   Probably the first time in 8 years we haven’t made it over to John’s on Christmas Eve.

BUT, we did get to see my cousin Jason, his wife Erika, and their daughter Kendall this year!  Kendall is 6 months older than B, and they played so well together.  The last time they were together, he was only 3 months old!

B taking a picture of Mommy.  Little did he know that Santa was bringing him his own camera!  More on that later :)

Kendall and her Grandpa.

Kendall is a Hannah Montana fanatic!  She dances and sings the entire opening number!

Scuba Santa!

December 24, 2008

Despite my dislike for the Newport Aquarium, I bought family passes for us because I knew we would use them.  B loves to go.  He talks about the scuba divers all the time.  He wants to be a scuba diver for Halloween next year.  So I thought he would be pumped about seeing Scuba Santa.  Wrong.  I wouldn’t use the word terrified, but he definitely wasn’t happy to pose next to the weird looking Santa sitting in the shark tank.  This is the best picture I could get!

The funniest part of the whole thing (besides ”scuba” sounding like “stupid” when B pronounces it) was the “elf” guarding Santa with a stick.  I wish I would have gotten a shot of him.  Probably the only Santa in the US that needs a bodyguard, complete with an exposed weapon.

What Scuba Santa was being protected from:
