Vote for my Kroger bag!

April 26, 2008

Some of you know I love my Kroger reusable bags, but let’s face it, they are UGLY.

The perfect solution?  Create your own!

Kroger is running a promotion where their customers can create their own reusable bag with a sustainability message.  So I pulled out the photoshop and got to work.  It is simple, but I love it :)

Vote for my design!  Then you can buy them in the store and tell everyone you know the fabulous designer who created it :)

2 posts in one day!  Don’t y’all feel special?

We had a mini photo session out on the deck on B’s birthday.  I had two favorites:

Sometimes I just have to admit he looks like mini-me.  But I am going to find some 2 year pictures of Scott this afternoon and scan them to show y’all how much B looks like his uncle!

Grandma Beth : Brayden, what comes from cows?

Brayden: Milk

Grandma Beth: What comes from chickens?

Brayden: Chicken Nuggets

Seriously…..he isn’t my kid.

A smile from B

Well, today is a very sad day in my life – my baby is 2 :(   I can’t believe how grown up he is already.  I sang Happy Birthday over the phone to him this morning, and he said “Thank you very much Mommy“.  We are so blessed to have this little man, I just wish he wasn’t growing up so fast.

Here is a sneak peak from his party this past weekend.  He basked in his birthday glory all day.  During Happy Birthday, he carefully scanned the room for anyone who wasn’t singing.  Right in the middle of the serenade, he pointed to Loren and screamed “SING LOREN“.  At that moment, I wished I was a videographer instead of a photographer.  It was priceless.

He blew out the first one without any problem.  Grandma Kathy was beckoned to assist with the 2nd candle.

Uncle Scott won the Uncle-of-the-Year-Award.  He got B a fish tank for his birthday – let’s just say Mom wasn’t as happy as B.  We have already had a dead fish – and it was “Nemo”.  Of course, my kid can’t think the fish is just sleeping as he is screaming ” Mommy, where’s Nemo?  Mommy, Nemo isn’t moving!”

Stayed tuned for a list of Brayden-isms….I sware, I don’t know where he gets this stuff, but it cracks us up!

Yes, it is about that time that I step up onto my soapbox.

It seems these days, parents-to-be put more time into researching a stroller than they do their own birth.  It is true, and I admit, I was one of them.  After being pushed into having an unnecessary C-Section, I started researching.  Nate and I rented the documentary, The Business of Being Born, which was produced by Ricki Lake. We HIGHLY recommend anyone who plans on having future children to rent this film.  It is amazing and empowering, and the facts are startling.  April is also Cesarean Awareness Month, which I found out through another organization I have been researching, called I-CAN.  When we have our next child, we plan on having a VBAC birth, with no unnecessary medical intervention.  It should be about what is best for the baby and the mother, not about the almighty $ and getting the doc home in time for dinner.
